Buy a Brick to Build a Brighter Future

Help us raise £3,200 for a new toilet block at Fruitful Standard Primary School.

About the Project

Fruitful Standard Primary School in Kabale, Uganda

urgently needs a new toilet block. The existing facilities are inadequate, consisting of three hand dug holes in the floor without sanitation. Our goal is to raise £3,200 to construct a modern six toilet block suitable for the children’s needs and ensure the provision of a year’s worth of running water costs.

Why are we raising money?

On behalf of Ugandan nursery and primary school, Fruitful Standard Institute of Education

We’ve launched a BUY A BRICK fundraising initiative to help provide the money URGENTLY needed for a safe, hygienic and fully equipped toilet block for the children.

Every child deserves dignity… to pee and poo in privacy without the risk of severe diarrhoea, disease or even death.

*** BUYING ONE BRICK CAN HELP US COLLECTIVELY SAVE LIVES ***

Currently the little children of Fruitful are using latrine holes dug in the ground, in a makeshift building constructed from corrugated iron, sticks and mud, often in extremely high temperatures with very limited resources for hygiene and cleanliness. This attracts a multitude of disease carrying insects and vermin, putting the children at great risk every single day.

Why don’t the government help, you might wonder? Well, we’ve tried reaching out to them, along with charities who focus on children and sanitation, only to be met with excuses or silence. That’s why we’re asking for your help.

Quick Question:

Have you ever visited a public toilet in a pub, at a festival, or on your travels, and it was so revolting that you were unable to use it?

Now imagine this lack of hygiene ten times worse and being the only option available to you or the children in your family, with each toilet visit increasing the risk of contracting deadly diseases like malaria, cholera, dysentery, typhoid, polio, or hepatitis A.

Never mind the stench!

33 children are dying daily

According to Dr. Atwine, Uganda’s Ministry Of Health 2024 “Diarrhoea, one of the top three childhood killer diseases in the country, claims the lives of 33 children daily, with 90% of cases directly attributed to inadequate water, poor sanitation, and unhygienic practices.”

Due to these horrific statistics and the school’s current unhygienic toilet condition …

THIS BUY A BRICK, LIFE SAVING FUNDRAISER IS ESSENTIAL TODAY!

This project requires a massive team effort and we’d love you to be part, with as little or as much involvement as you choose.
