Whilst the autumn leaves begin to beautifully change colour outside (UK), I’m here to give you the first update of the Fruitful toilet block fundraiser and build.
Thanks to all of you fabulous donors so far, we’re getting close to the third milestone and the first 2 x £250.00 transfers have reached Fruitful, with the ground work underway.
TOILET BLOCK PROGRESS SO FAR:
Brighter Future Brick (global) donations: 652 of 3200 target (Over 20%)
9th October1,200,870 UGX arrived with Muhumuza at Fruitful, by Western Union.
There was a delay with the Wise transfer, so the second transfer went via Western Union.
10th October
- Materials delivered to Fruitful:
- 2 trips of sand, @200,000 UGX with transport. Total: 400,000 UGX
- 1 truckload of aggregates: 300,000 UGX
11th October
- 1,205,127 UGX arrived with Muhumuza at Fruitful, by Wise.
- Materials collected and delivered to Fruitful:
- 1 truckload of bricks: 650,000 UGX
16th October
Over the past 5 days, the following has been carried out at Fruitful:
- Cesspit extended by hand diggers
- Foundation wall laid with bricks
- Wooden planks added to strengthen the foundation
- Ground sheet and metal cross bars added to the foundation
- Concrete laid to secure the cesspit, for safety, hygiene, and strength
The water company is yet to show.
I will update you again on the progress once we reach 40%.
