Fruitful Bog-Blog 2: 777 Brighter Future Bricks

Hey hey!

It’s not just a tinkle this time, I’m back with bog-blog number 2.

The bricks are slowly but splendidly stacking up in Just Giving, and also at Fruitful thanks to the ability for donations to be withdrawn and transferred whilst the fundraiser is still active.

Current Progress

So far we’ve collectively reached:

🙌🏽777 Brighter Future Bricks🙌🏽

and these little stars at Fruitful are showing the first 3 toilet rooms which are underway.

Nearly a Quarter of the Way There!

We’re nearly a quarter of the way there and not a moment too soon as it’s currently the second wet season in Uganda which, as I’m sure you can imagine, creates greater risk and problems for the make-shift toilet block and children’s safety.

Further Toilet Block Progress

9th – 26th October

  • £530.00 (2,541,924.00 UGX) successfully arrived with Muhu for Fruitful so far.
  • Fliers made and spread around (local UK) where possible.
  • (PDF available if you’d like to help spread these in your local areas too)

17th October

  • Cesspit extended by hand diggers
  • Foundation wall laid with bricks
  • Wooden planks added to strengthen the foundation
  • Ground sheet and metal cross bars added to the foundation
  • Concrete laid with bricks to secure the cesspit, for safety, hygiene and strength

22nd October – 26th October

  • Further ground sheet added and cut to shape for each of the 6 toilet rooms
  • Exterior and interior walls for the first 3 toilet rooms built up to head height so far

Next Steps

  • Radio and local newspapers to be contacted by Cat in the hope they’ll feature the project
  • £250.00 transfer to be sent once the next milestone is reached
  • Exterior and interior walls to be continued to full height
  • Roofing and wooden doors to be put in place

I’ll keep you posted.

Much love from me and all of Fruitful
